Ok, start of the season, 1st day and I 'lost' 100mm off the tip of my Kilwell Tradition to the car door monster! The rod is only special to me as it was a gift from a special person. Anyway I have cut away the broken piece and put the tip eye back on at the break point, thereby shortening the rod by a little.
My question is, what effect is this going to have on the action of the rod?
thanks Rene

Re: Broken rod tip
Will stiffen the rod up, essentially making it maybe a line weight heavier, but hard to say. A lot depends on the rod. Have a cast and make your own decision.
