Hi all
Anyone tried or using a Stickman T6 for trout fishing South Island NZ, I’m looking at treating myself to a new high end stick and like what I’m reading about them from overseas anglers but would like to know how they work on our local water. I know I could just get a “proven” sage what ever but I have always liked to think outside the box and try something a bit different to the norm.
Hi Mark - did you end up getting the Stickman T6? It's apparently a very special rod. I think it's made in the same place as Paul Arden's Hot Torpedo range. I'd be interested in seeing how it stacks up against the Pro6 which I suspect is a more powerful rod but I'm guessing the T6 has a more subtle action.
If you haven't got one and want to share delivery costs, I'm happy to order one too. Just DM me. Anyone else keen?

Hi, due to covid and a change of job I have had to put my plans for a new rod on hold for a bit. Good luck if you decide to go this route and I’d be keen to hear what you think of it.

Will do. Understand completely. I've been looking at the T6, the Douglas Sky-G and the new Centric and will progressively get them all in and resell what I don't like. More than happy to meet up when I do and have a casting session! I'll be completely accepting Akos' advice on guides, handle, etc as he's done all the testing. So it will be a fairly standard build, although I'm going to go Amber for a bit of a colour change.
Cheers.

First time I’ve called in to the NZ forum in ages...
I’ve got the Stickman P5, not fished with it a huge (10 or 12 times) amount yet as it’s a bit over gunned for my nearest rivers (SW England) and Covid has reduced travel options... but I’ve fished and cast it enough (out on the field loads) to say it’s a great rod. Not set up to bomb out a fly to 90’, although it will obviously happily cast a full line.... but it’s really set up to cast really accurately out to 60’, fairly small guide sets, flexes quite deep into the butt... plenty of power... I hate describing a rod ... basically it feels fantastic and I’m extremely happy with it
