Is UV really over 12+ these days?!
According to the NIWA site it is 11 today (!!) I cannot recall it ever being over 7 in all the years I have been checking it. Haven't checked that often in the last couple of years as I haven't fished much lately.
Are you guys that are still getting out there getting extra crispy? I would post a pic of the graph but I don't know how to do it on this site.

I can very well believe the figures mate.
I was burning through my clothing and even though I was covered up and zinc(ed) up with sunscreen, that sun was brutal.
Got to the point at times it was nicer to sit in the shade and watch a fish for half an hour before continuing.
Drink plenty of water while you're at it.
