Losing tip section of flyrod

Post by Maniototoflyfisher » Wed Apr 27, 2022 8:59 pm

At my age I shouldn't be doing stupid things - but I still am!!! My latest was putting my rod up at the truck and then deciding NOT to line up until I got to the river. When I got 500 metres down stream, through the long grass and willow infested jungle, I found I'd lost the tip section of my 4 piece rod. I backtracked several times but couldn't find it.
So now I have a rule - either leave the rod in the bag/tube until starting to fish or line up completely before leaving the truck, so if the tip comes loose it's held by the line.

Hi David. Where did you lose it. I found a tip section of a fly rod at Queens Reach on the Upper Waiau a couple of weeks ago.

Hi Dave - if it's an Epic 590G tip I'll take it !!! (don't know how you tell without the rest of the rod!!) Unfortunately mine was lost on the Taieri near Middlemarch.

Already have it! Reference series - emailed the night I lost it - reply next morning - on courier that day - with me following day - can't beat that service 😀
