Tauranga/BOP saltwater
G’day - not visiting NZ because I live in Welly, but visiting family in Hamilton over new year and was thinking about driving somewhere salty to target some Kahawai or - if I get very lucky - a Kingie. Anybody have any recommendations for land based SWFF? Have done a fair bit of research but haven’t nailed anything down yet and a lot of the suggestions seem to involve a boat or kayak.

Hit the flats inside the harbour for kingies bro. Bowtown end is meant to be the best. Fish 2hrs before top of the tide and 2hrs on the start of the fall. Look for black rays, and cast just ahead of them.
IL be there just after NY. Iv been once before but didn't have much luck, so I'm only passing on what info I know.

Thanks Fraser. Appreciate the tip on where some wadeable flats can be found! I’ve done a bit of reading on ray riders etc but just trying to Google map up a reasonable spot to do some wading. Cheers.
