HiYa!
My wife and I are in the planning stages of a 3 to 4 week trip to the South Island of New Zealand. Starting in Christchurch and ending in Queenstown.
We will be taking the rail west with stops and continue by car south.
We will be using local guides and want to stay at B&B's along the way. Any advice, books or website's you think would help is greatly appriciated.
Thanks for your replies.
All The Best,
Ron

Re: South Island B&B's
My understanding is that the Trans Alpine railway is closed for about 4-6 weeks due to damaged/washed-out bridges and tracks due to recent flooding events. Possibly KiwiRail could confirm that for you.
