Best locations to fish for trout near Auckland

Hey Guys,

I am new to this forum. Thought I’d join and get a bit of advice from you guys. I have recently moved to New Zealand and I am dying to catch my 1st New Zealand trout.

I am based in Auckland,Half Moon Bay area and have been looking for a place reasonably close to get some experience in New Zealand waters.

I know around hamilton would probably be a good place to start? But does anyone have any good accessible locations that I could try over a weekend?
