Photobucket and posting pics...

Post by Johnno » Thu Sep 07, 2017 4:51 pm

Seems like photobucket are entering the world of user pays which means a lot of ppple are finding ( like Fraser) that their pics won't post unless they pay a sub....

I know pple on other forums like the flymphforum.com have had huge issues trying to post pics. Many have tried to use the likes of Google pics and other pic hosting sites rather than PB. With varying degrees of success. Hopefully in time someone will sort it out

There are other pic hosting sites out there that are free. Not many are as user friendly to use as FB. If anyone finds one that works let us all know....

in the meantime, some of us will still have PB accounts that work....

I guess that in time the links may die. If that's the case and you want to save pics, like of flies for eg, do so before they disappear.....( but if you post them elsewhere, acknowledge the tier at least and don't imply they your own, as I found someone doing recently.....)

Hey Johnno
It's a pain...
I had to transfer which service I used.
After advice from others on the US fly forum I opted for postimages.org
Works really quickly and is straight forward.

Can you not just upload from your computer and bypass these companies. (PhotoBucket)
I'm sure Steve would be able to confirm this.

I've had the same thing with a bunch of my photo's on other sites.

What an awesome fishing locale Johnno. Looks like a superb spot to get away from it all.

Some of my life I spend fly fishing, the rest I just waste!

Yup it is. Or rather was until it got wrecked by forestry, floods and the TDC. Happily the Nel-Marl fish and game are getting very proactive with restoration along a number of our waterways, this being one of them. Give it ten years hand I'm optimistic it'll be back....
