Please respect all fellow members...

Comment on their ideas, but do not ever criticise the person!

Just remember that the written word doesn't always come out as intended, and we are all different, give people the benefit of the doubt, if you are writing something (unless it's in the issues forum) and you don't have a simile on your face, then pause and start again, know when to pull back before hitting that post button, then this will remain a place where people will want to visit and share their stories about the gentle art of catching fish on a fly

Yep, saying that, a bit of conflict always livens things up.

He wasn't the only one, seem to remember a certain Scandinavian who was fairly passionate about graphite composition and the importance of knowing about it, amongst his other passions

The Positivity Post has been deleted, I remind everyone as to the forum rules, it's only fly fishing after all, be nice, we have few enough members as it is...

Hi steve,
What a shame that an otherwise interesting and sober debate had to be deleted because of one or two bad mannered posters.
The original topic was not even about the trouble.
I would have thought it would suffice to delete the unapropiate posts, but maybe that is not technically possible ?
I fully understand and agree that the attitude and languige in those posts were not acceptable.
Hopefully, the subject in question can be soberly discussed in the thread where it belonged in the first place "the problem of overcrowded waters".
