Motueka v Wairau

Hi all
Looking to travel down to Nelson or Marlborough for some fly fishing in early December. Wonder whether to pick the Motueka or Wairau catchments? Any advice appreciated.

Both. But be sure to check, clean, dry your gear before moving catchments....

Hi, both are historically great waters and worth fishing for nostalgic reason alone. There's also plenty of great fishing in the tributaries and lowland sections of both so make sure to explore rather than going to the standard 'beat' sections and easiest access. Fishing options will depend on the weather at the time. If we get any December rain like last year, the Nelson area may give you better options
