A question for you committed fly tyers. We've completed some alterations at home and now I have a dedicated room for hunting, fishing etc - you could call it a small man cave This is where I will set up my fly tying gear etc so what I want to know is what do you guys use to store furs, feathers, hooks etc etc.
Is there something you use that can be bought off the shelf, did you make something up?

Re: Storage
+1 on them - they are often on special as well. And add a wee bit of mothballs in any drawers storing feathers, although it's proving harder to get locally.Johnno wrote:Plastic storage draws from the warehouse.

Re: Storage
What ever draw I can squeeze them into really. Its a flipping mess!!
No seriously me and my wife are looking at buying a new place at the moment. Iv found a local guy that is building / re-building furniture locally. Im going to get him to make me a specific fly tying bench. something with dedicated storage for my materials and labeled so i know exactly where everything is.

Re: Storage
I have an old oak writing desk, $50 off TM. The dividers for letters and the like are great for lining up various packets of stuff. The underneath draws fit sistema containers perfect. The fold down lid when folded up is a quick and easy tidy up.
