Tying some bomb patterns for the up and coming winter Tongariro trip.... Anyone have some good patterns they are willing to share?

Thanks

Think along the lines of a large (sz 10) H&C on a 1XL or 2XL hook tied with as slim a profile as you can manage. Use plenty of lead wraps (goes without saying) and to make them fast and so as they last use the dubbing brush method of applying the dubbing. Google that if you are unfamiliar with it - very easy to do on a clean garage bench with minimal handyman tools.

You will be surprised how many fish take the bomb, so it pays to make the tails out of good materials - I use Betts Tailing fibres for that reason.

A good bomb is one that wears out so as just the dubbing brush wire shows through, with the tail intact...
