yea if me and Dore are in a car on a way to a fishing spot, NO ONE gets a word in! Particularly since we are both excited as we will be fishing shortly.Wilki wrote:Funny Fraser, my brother wondered who would get a word in edge ways between you and Dore

Re: Wilkis Bamboo Build (contd)...
So to continue from the rod build, I wanted something a little different to keep my boo rod in while it travels from home to the wee streams it's destined to fish. I got some timber slats from a supplier back working at ITM, some Indonesian hardwood with pin hole wood worm marks. I got my Brother in-law to machine the timber into beveled slats to form a hexagonal wooden rod tube.
All glued up...
Once dried, I sanded it down then oiled it with a darker tint stain to highlight the grain and imperfection contrasts...
So next step is to glue and fix some hardwood ply to the ends to ends to seal the tube, sand flush and stain to match the tube... once all complete I will then cut the complete tube about an inch and a half from one end to fit a wee brass hinge and magnet.
